Economic Growth In Logistics

Economic Growth In Logistics

The Sustainable Development Goals aim to increase employment, improve economic productivity and provide decent working conditions for workers in order to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth. In this context, increasing productivity by promoting innovation, supporting worker productivity and providing the sector with a skilled workforce are key priorities. Turkey's logistics sector, with its rapidly digitising and diversifying structure, has significant potential to contribute to sustainable development goals. Sertrans Logistics is pursuing a strong growth strategy by realising this potential with concrete steps.

The importance of economic efficiency and employee satisfaction

Sertrans provides an example of sustainable growth with the steps it has taken to increase employee satisfaction and business process efficiency. More than 20 pieces of in-house software, developed thanks to the company's R&D centre status, help to speed up operations, reduce error rates and make more effective use of resources. This increases the level of digitalisation in logistics processes and ensures operational efficiency.

In addition, Sertrans has implemented projects to improve the working environment with an approach that focuses on the well-being of its employees. Based on the results of employee satisfaction surveys, working conditions have been improved, social support such as supplementary health insurance has been offered, and employee loyalty has been increased through social arrangements. These approaches not only support employee job satisfaction, but also increase business productivity in the long term.

Sustainable growth through employment and capacity expansion

Sertrans' growth strategy is strongly focused on increasing the number of employees and capacity expansion targets. The company has achieved a significant increase in employment by increasing the number of employees from 325 in 2019 to 1,250 in 2024. Sertrans, whose warehouse capacity has increased by 100% to 150,000 square metres, continues to strengthen its logistics infrastructure to meet the need for capacity and service expansion in the sector.

Big goals for the future

As well as improving the current situation, Sertrans has also set its future goals in line with its 2030 vision. Over the next two years, it plans to increase its storage capacity to 250,000 square metres. In addition, new warehouses are to be opened in various locations in Europe to achieve sustainable growth in the global market.

Investments in digitalisation and innovative and efficiency-oriented projects are aimed at creating a unique position in the sector, while at the same time creating a sustainable human resource structure by training and preparing key personnel for positions of greater responsibility. In this way, increasing both economic efficiency and skilled employment in the logistics sector is one of the cornerstones of Sertrans' sustainable growth strategy.

The importance of sustainable economic growth in the logistics sector

As part of global supply chains, the logistics industry plays a strategic role in supporting economic growth. Through investment, digitalisation and improvements that increase employee loyalty, logistics leaders such as Sertrans can make a difference both within themselves and across the sector. The result is efficient and sustainable business processes that increase the productivity of all employees.

With the strategic steps it has taken and the goals it has set, Sertrans Logistics is setting an example of inclusive and sustainable growth not only for the company, but for the logistics industry as a whole.
